Europe 2017 - Part 6

30 June 2017

We came out of our first night camping... ALIVE!!

It was really cold, but it was not unbearable. We didnt have much planned today, as Ayah, Aliff and Zharif was now already out on the bicycle ride through one of the Tour De France route. (yeah the crazy we know).

While Ibu, and Kngah went out to do the laundry, Aida, I and the little boys chilled around the campsite. We had breakfast and let the kids play at the playground. It was a pretty relaxed day. I am very proud of us, that we do allocate time to take a beat in our travel this time. Usually, its always, go, go go, everyday with no proper relaxed or chilled day. I personally expressed my preference for a downtime, just so that the trip would not be too hectic for me.

Alfee & Ezeqiel with their cars

After everybody came back from doing the laundry, we decided to go to the nearest town Dijon. It is also, Kak Ngah's first time driving the manual car, to a foreign town, in a foreign country. I am to this day, always had fond memories that day because I was her co-driver. I enjoyed that time in the car with Kak Ngah and Alffee, singing along to radio.

What I most would not forget is when we had accidentally drove into a closed street, and there were people who knocked on our windows and say that it was forbidden. We ofcourse were panicked, and for some reason, we both mis read the waze telling us where to go. But the roads in France, really are confusing, with their right hand drives and one way street. Anyways, we got out of there safely, and made our way to the parking area.

The weather in Dijon was not very cooperative. It rained mostly, and we could not explore the city as much as we wanted to. After roaming around town, we searched for the nearest halal food we could find. There, we sheltered from the rain, as well as getting food in our stomach. But at this point, I was really beginning to feel really sick of Kebabs. But, we also didnt have much choice.

Dijon France

Driver & Co-Driver

With the weather and all, we decided to go and pickup the 3 crazy cyclists nearby. It was about another 30 mins drive, through the countryside. So, it wasnt too hard as compared to driving into town.

After we have found the cyclist, we then decided to part ways, because I was beginning to feel tired. Mom, Dad and I proceed back to the camping area, while the rest went back to Dijon.
