Europe 2017 - Part 2

26 June 2017

Morning came by, even though we were supposed to be jet lagged, we still woke up at a quite decent time since we were so tired from the journey yesterday.

Had breakfast in the room this morning, since the boys were going out to get the car from the car rental place. We had to babysit Ezeqiel and Alffee, since their parents could not take them along. I now realise how creative a babysitter need to be in order for them to keep the babies occupied.

It took them longer than expected to get the cars... when they are finally done with the rental, we decided to go our separate ways. Aida, Farhan went up to Nottingham to show Ezeqiel where they stayed during their student days, Kak Ngah, Aliff, Alffee, Fahim & Zharif went on the train to explore London while Mom Dad and I went to Reading to visit Ibu's friend for Raya. (Our First Raya Visit)

First official photo of the car... ahaha (any excuse for a selfie)

Ibu's friend in Reading (a student finishing her PhD)

After leaving mom's friends' house, dad wanted to go to a DIY shop to buy some of the necessities for us to travel to Europe. (Nowadays, in order for you to drive in Europe, you will need a safety kit accessible to you in the car, just in case a police stops you.) Suddenly, Ibu received a call from an unknown number. It was dad's friend, who has been staying in Reading since 1998. He insisted that we stop for a coffee-catch-up at a nearby store.

Also a cycling enthusiast -- not surprised if Dad's next visit would be to Reading for one round of cycling session with this uncle.

After the coffee session, we were wondering if Uncle Geraint and Aunt Jane was still around (we lost contact with them after our visit in 2003). We decided to just go to their home and just knock on their door to see if they were still around....and there they were! still so healthy and still being so English. (duck watching, henley regatta, etc.)

We went back to the hotel after that, and prepared for our early journey to catch our ferry the next day.
